Review

Date:

 28th July 2007

Weather (if applicable):

A lovely sunny day

Overall playability rating:

8

Playability:

Design:

9

Difficulty Level:

7 – We only had a quick game but you could tell that most holes could be Aced, however there were enough bumps, lumps and logs in your path to trip you up

Skill Factor:

7

Maintenance:

8 – would have got a 10 for maintenance however there were some stones and wood chippings strewn on some holes

Sustainability:

10 – Yes I’d play it again, and yes I would recommend it

Other factors:

Appearance:

10 – It looks lovely; I’d like a course like it in my back garden (if my back garden was big enough)

Environment:

7 – It had a steady flow of customers, although we were held up by some slow groups in front, this wouldn’t normally be a big problem but we were in a bit of a hurry to make another booking

Equipment:

All of the clubs looked new and were well maintained. The balls were normal golf balls. Separate clubs for adults and kids (however I was given a kids club to start with!?!)

Originality:

10 – it was original

Venue Facilities:

1 – Would have got a 10 but there is a distinct lack of toilet facilities in the area, not good if you were planning on spending a whole day there, which you could with all the activities on offer

Vicinity Facilities:

10 - Lots of other activities in the area, including boating, a funfair, mini railway, extreme rope climbing and other water based sports

Value for money:

£3.00 for 9 holes was a bit expensive; the children’s rate is £2.50. They could have allowed 2 plays for £3.00 to make it 18-holes

Reviewer comments:

Each of the holes is interesting with holes 3 and 5 being particular good
