Round 2.    8 February 14.00  Hastings seafront courses

Weather: Cold, Occasionally sunny and lots of wind!!

1. Standard BMGA rules of the sport will apply, except where outlined below.

Format:

2. The Hastings Invitational Tournament will be played from January 1st until the week before the British Club Championship.
3. Matches will take place throughout this period, on dates to suit the participating players. 
4. Participation will be for Planet Hastings Crazy Golf Club (PHCGC) members only.
5. The player with the greatest number of points at the close of the competition will be declared the winner.
6. Juniors for the purpose of this competition are those members who are 18 or under on the first day of the competition.
7. The only allowable courses are in our area - ie Hastings, Eastbourne, Tonbridge etc.
8. All matches are both match play and stroke play.
9. Players should play in groups of two or three and play a minimum of two rounds, not necessarily in the same groups. And please let faster groups play through.
10. A minimum of three players (for ease of organisation) have to turn up for it to be used in the HIT, outsiders don't count. (See also new weather rule)
11. A minimum of eight rounds has to be played for a qualifying score to count towards the team selection and to win the trophy, however you can play less just for the fun of it. The essence is we all need competitive practice.

Attendance:

12. Any Planet Hastings member can arrange a match, which should be open to all Planet Hastings members including juniors, ie Email everybody at least a couple of days in advance.
13. If a participating player is unable to turn up for a round of the competition at the agreed time, they must inform all the other participating players as soon as possible.
14. Any player failing to turn up for a round of the Tournament within 15 minutes of the agreed start time will be deducted 10 HIT competition points unless:
1. They have given all other participating players, by e-mail, at least 24 hours notice of their late arrival or absence; or
2. They have given all other participating players, by telephone, at least three hours' notice of their late arrival or absence; or
3. There are genuine extenuating circumstances, which are accepted as such by all other participating players.
15. Failure to complete a round means an automatic stroke play loss and a score of seven for each of the remaining holes. Each hole is lost from that point onwards for matchplay purposes.
16. New weather rule.  Should a player(s) turn up but decide not to play because of the weather, a minimum of two players is allowed.  There is no penalty for a player deciding not to play due to the weather - within reason!

Scoring:

Matchplay: 
2 players A v B A wins on holes 2 points. B wins on holes 2 points. Draw 1 point each.
3 players A v B v C 
A v B, A v C, B v C A wins on holes over B 2 points. B wins on holes over C 2 points etc. Draw 1 point each.
And one point each to every winner of a hole in each pairing - no winner on a hole no points.

Stroke play:
Same as above but 2 points for each win over 18 holes against each player. 


Bonuses and Loss of points.

One point for playing a match

Equal BMGA record 5 points
Effective par for each course:
    Crazy Golf 38 (42)
    Minigolf 39 (43)
    Clambers 39 (43)
    Adventure 42 (46)
    Others to be decided. Figures for juniors in brackets.
For every shot above these scores you lose one point per shot, up to a maximum of 7 points.
For every shot below these scores you gain one point per shot, up to a maximum of 7 points.

Example:
I play Ted in the first round in a twosome on the Adventure golf, I win all eighteen holes carding a 38 to Ted's 57 and thus score:
1 point for playing
2 points for a matchplay win
18 points for winning all 18 holes
2 points for a strokeplay win
0 points as I didn't break or equal the BMGA record
4 points for my score (42-38)
Total 28 points

Ted scores
1 point for playing
0 points for a matchplay loss
0 points for winning no holes
0 points for a strokeplay loss
0 points as he didn't break or equal the BMGA record
-7 points for his score (42-57). He gets -15 but the maximum is -7
Total Minus 6 points

All scorecards should be submitted to me. And you should work out all the points that each player has got before submission.

The league table order is decided firstly on points then overall wins then overall draws then on the weighted average.

General:

17. Results of all matches will count towards the HIT competition.
18. In each season, the winner of the competition will be responsible for the engraving of the trophy.
19. All participating players will be responsible for the cost of their own green fees.
20. Lead responsibility for the organisation of the Hastings Invitational Tournament shall change each year.
21. We should endeavour to ensure that each player plays all others the same amount of times - well approximately. And also try and make it that each player goes first, second and possibly third the same number of times.
22. The top four players will represent Hastings in the British Club Championship.
