Tim Davies (World Crazy Golf Champion (again), Britain's number 3 (yeah right) and Emperor of Planet Hastings Crazy Golf Club) says:

In my own eyes I'm still rightfully number 1 and although once more the thought of retirement looms large I've decided to regain my throne and make you all pay, in wasted sweat and tears. Once more unto the beach. I ended the regular season in spanking form and will continue this into 2005. Who are the realistic challengers, well there aren't any so I wont bother highlighting any names. Ted will continue to play a member of the supporting cast as will the rest of you. One more competition is within my grasp now as a Senior. Eat my thermal vest.  The gulf in technique continues to grow, the ones I respect continues to shorten, only Steve Gow and Keith Kellard have the necessaries.  They will come good, who cares about the rest.  Well, I do, only the Bullins show the wherewithall to learn and to grow, some think they know more than the proven veterans but they remain and always will, might-have-beens.

Ted McIver (British Masters Champion and Britain's number 4 (yeah right)) says:

Like Uma Thurman's character in Kill Bill, Ace man Davies will eviscerate everything and everyone in 2005.
Imagine if you will the destructive power of the daleks multiplied by the chaos of the Borg, sprinkle in the carnage of "Battle Royale" and add annihilation and this will give you an inkling of the Juggernaught coming your way.
2005 will see fewer players taking part in these competitions, either because they're fed up with his "winning is everything" philosophy, his BABBA (bad attitude, bad body aroma), his one man war on the Executive committee or the simple fact that no one in this country is fit to play on the same minigolf course as this Planet Hastings demi god demigogue.
Since the London based plots stripped the Hastings maestro of his beloved position as British number one he has brooded, bawled, bellowed, bled, blasphemed and slowly curdled in self pity.
He will be a bitter bad ass baleful opponent upon the putting surfaces of England.
Someone has to pay for the indignities piled upon him, that will be anyone foolish enough to pick up putter and ball and walk upon the same minigolf course as Davies.
Davies is willing to sacrifice his home, his career, his kids, his girlfriend, his friend, just to regain the top lollipop position -do you, dear reader, possess that dedication and determination??
The top eight players to watch:

1)Tim Davies loath him or loath him you can't ignore him-unfortunately
2)Will Eagar- if only he would stop going out to pubs, art galleries, cinemas, clubs and parties and knuckle down to a life of minigolf, he could be the one to make Tim eat my words
3)Jo Vallory the George Best of minigolf-so much talent but too many Miss Worlds and buckets of champagne
4) Chris from Stratford. If he ever turns up again this boy could go all the way
5)Peter Parr-will his self imposed rest make him hungrier or rustier-we wait to see-needs more self belief
6)J Angel-winning the players championship will have given him more confidence, can he maintain the momentum of 2004 I believe he can
7)K Kellard -needs to break his play off hoodoo -solid player but needs another season to toughen up-the Tottenham Hotspur of minigolf plays attractive stuff but makes needless mistakes
8) M Webb Britains number one the big cheese, the next Don McPhee, it would be crass for me to dare to criticise, or comment on any aspect of his game so I won't. Needs to work on his public image and relations with the British press

Steve Gow (British International team player) says:

As someone once said "the king is dead, long live the king."
Rather than evaluate the players and how good they are, I have gone for a less scientific approach and made my predictions using a random number generator and where players finished in last seasons rankings.
Makes for some interesting reading.  So by the looks of it "The new king is dead, resurrect the old king, long live the king."

Keith Kellard (British International team player and Britain's number 5) says:

It was an interesting minigolf year was 2004. We have a new number 1, Mr Michael Webb, with erstwhile champion Tim Davies slipping down to number 3! But will it stay that way? I don't think so. Tim is hungry to regain the top spot but will have more competition than he might expect. Look to the players currently occupying the top 5 places to battle it out, but don't underestimate the likes of the Bullins, Steve Gow, Brad Shepherd, Chris Harding, to name a few, putting in strong challenges. And expect a few new names on the scene too. After all, where was I this time last year? (50th)
