Weather (if applicable):

Damp

Overall playability rating:

4

Playability:

Design:

4 – it looks good on the surface (i.e. from a distance), but when you actually play the course you see it’s nigh on impossible to enjoy greatly. The ball cannot roll in a straight line on the course, instead there is a lot of bobble.

Difficulty Level:

8, but in a bad way. Very difficult to play from a skill point of view.

Skill Factor:

3, see above

Maintenance:

6. It’s in fairly good condition for the type of course. Shame about the unevenness.

Sustainability:

3. Probably wouldn’t play it again. But if you’re in Abingdon and like Crazy Golf then do play it.

Other factors:

Appearance:

See ‘Design’ above

Environment:

8, yes it fits in. There is also a good Pitch & Putt course next to it and the course was quite busy while we were there.

Equipment:

5, OK equipment. Quite hard and heavy balls.

It does score points with me as they DO have scorecards and pencils.

Originality:

10, I haven’t seen a course like it before.

Venue Facilities:

5, sort of. Pitch & Putt, children’s adventure playground, fishing on the River Thames?

Vicinity Facilities:

2. Not really

Value for money:

5 sort of.

Reviewer comments:

The Crazy Golf is not that good, but the Pitch & Putt is well worth a go. It’s well maintained and there are plenty of hazards (bunkers, the river etc.) to make it good fun.
